available to help you find the best records for your research inquiry the

held by the State Archives and indicate the availability of microphone copies or
digital versions of records many people visit the State Archives to conduct
genealogical research before visiting explore our online resources relating to
genealogy and vital records as well as those pertaining to related topics such
as military service records Corps and probate records and prison and
reformatory records in addition our website has information about birth
marriage and death certificates held by the New York State Department of Health

visiting can help you determine if enough relevant records are available to
warrant travel and confirm that research in these records cannot be done remotely
if after conducting online research you are interested in coming to the State
