at a cold-case missing-persons mystery is getting some new life the same year Adam Walsh disappeared so did a young woman from right here in South Florida Argentines Stan which shows us how her family is hoping to get this mystery solved more than 30 years later I don’t know who would do this to a six-year-old child in 1981 the headlines were dominated by the disappearance of Adam wall Adam Walsh has been missing for about 30 hours TV crews from around the country descending on South Florida August joyous temporary body but that same year there was another family suffering unimaginable heartbreak over another missing person and you’ve probably never heard of her and has been 37 years that we’ve been waiting for her to return and I won’t give up Edie Kelson who now lives in Lauderhill remembers the phone call the day our little sister Lily Miller vanished answer the phone my sister said eating we hate to tell you this but Lily went to work this morning that has not returned more than three decades later a new pair of detectives and a brand new look at what Lily might look like today so this is still very much an open case yes it was December 11th 1981 Lily was just 21 by family accounts conscientious smart working as a secretary for the city of Riviera Beach at 12:15 wearing dark slacks she leaves the Municipal Building walks to her car she didn’t want to be late she was anxious because she didn’t want to be late meeting her boyfriend detectives say she’s meeting her boyfriend at this apartment several miles south for lunch but one and then two hours pass they never saw her again hours later detectives would discover their only sign of Lily Miller her car ditched right here at Avenue J which 36 years ago was just a dirt road and it turns out it was her boyfriend who led detectives here after searching her car nearby fields a tip comes in about a man who fits the description of that boyfriend identified as Otis Morgan he would soon become their suspect on the same day of the incident he saw a well-dressed black man between 25 and 30 years of age come out of the woods with a shovel in his hand detectives would scour the area nothing leaves would come in but they were all dead ends located dogs they didn’t pick up one of anything six months later Otis Morgan committed suicide and no sign of Lillie anywhere no bones have been found that coming back to her nothing has been found up until this day these are some different pictures of her different ages in her life thanks in part to pressure from Lily’s sister who’s kept photos files and newspaper clippings police had a sketch artist make this new age progression rendering just released to the public we took pictures of her sisters and her close family relatives and sent to them along with her habits her eating habits her you know recreational habit if alive today Lilly would be 58 is it still possible to be able to solve this case it is yeah people come forth you know maybe the smallest thing I’m thinking she could still be alive somewhere how do you do this well I pray a lot I cry a lot I get angry a lot I I just have to rely on my faith Jeanine Stanwood local 10 News
