Oh my God! That’s not bad, is it? Wow! That one’s interesting. We’re here at Bondi beach,
and we’re going to have a closer look at one of the buildings in Bondi, and the
residents of those buildings get a sense of what they think they know about
themselves and what their DNA is going to reveal. Why don’t we go on that
journey of discovery with them? We’ve got the most interesting
building here, I think, because there’s so many different cultures here. Hi, my name is Simone
Oro. I’m from Brazil. With a name like Theo
Athanasopoulos, it’s pretty Greek. To me, being Norwegian
is really everything I know. So, it’s down to culture.
It’s down to genes. I felt like I never really
had an identity. Actually, I don’t know that
much about my family background. It probably was from my mum and dad
before the pair of them passed away. Do you want to find out
who you really are? I’d love to see what the test will show. Do you think it’s going to change
the way you see yourself? I think it might. When you find out
new bits of information, you start to look at things differently. I think it’d explain a few
things about the way that I look, so. A little scary to find out,
also excited to find out. ♪ [music] ♪ All right, shall we do it? Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s do it. ♪ [music] ♪ Wow! Scandinavia, 11%. Ireland, 40%. Africa South-Central

the Italy and Greece came from. There’s a lot of surprises there. Caucasus, 2%. Scandinavia, 1%. It’s crazy though, that I’m, you
know, I’m more Asian than Western European or Finnish. Now I know why
when I go to Italy or Greece, they talk to me Italian or Greek. I can’t explain, really,
what I’m feeling right now. Yeah, they’re pretty
spectacular results. Bit of spice in there. It’s good to hear it. I’m really blown away by this. This is crazy! Actually, I feel glad that I did that
DNA test. It gave me a lot of answers concerning my family tree. So, I now have claimed my Viking
heritage, and wherever we go, I let everyone know that I’m a Viking! It’s amazing, a little bit shocking,
but really exciting experience. If this is just localized in one
apartment building, imagine if more people in the world
were able to take this test and share that connection, it would
be pretty special and remarkable. So, I hope more people do it. ♪ [music] ♪
