August 5, 2017 Reply Nathan German At 15:30, what is the alt-page down doing? I don't have the page down button on my keyboard. September 1, 2017 Reply Shaun Duffus Your tutorials are freaking AMAZING! Thanks man September 16, 2017 Reply Jay Great trick but video is hard to follow. Specially around min 6 when you add the expression it's impossible to see what you are doing since subtitles are on the way. Thanks for teaching us but you should make it easier for the learner December 8, 2017 Reply Juan Mendoza My ball transitons are kinda snappy (lol) as in switching the molecules/choosing what goes in the front and what goes in the back, when i make the switch the white rectangle appears very abruptly but his animation is super smooth and seamless… anyone else having snappy ball problems? January 16, 2018 Reply Olli1226 How has no one commented on the fact he sounds like Seth Rogen? January 26, 2018 Reply Liz Shumpert SWEET! How would you go about making a looping GIF in which the DNA animates on, spins spins spins, and then animates off? Is there a way of using the infinite loop out expression like you do in this project, but still tacking an "animate out" on the end so that the ending matches the beginning? THANKS! April 12, 2018 Reply KABOB kabob you're an absolute madman May 9, 2018 Reply Felis Tigris love it, can I use it for a commercial project? June 4, 2018 Reply OLMYT Official So cool, dude. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!! July 10, 2018 Reply Lew Kooshyong hi friends ,thanks for tutorial, it really handly September 5, 2018 Reply keto cat I think my brain is bleeding October 23, 2018 Reply Nelli Seriously Hi, Evan! When I group "smallest unit" and open it in the new composition, the loop markers start directly from the beginning of the layer (not from the 2sec), there is no space before. As the result, there is a pause before starting the motion and when I add cycle expression, it still has that pause before motion. How can I fix it? November 5, 2018 Reply John Blunda At 15:36, I got lost when you moved that element up so far when only hitting the Arrow Up key. Doing just that only moves it 10 pixels. After trial and error, I found holding down the Shift button while using the Arrow Up key seems to match what you're doing. And…a HUGE thank you for making this video. You're at the top of your game, sir! December 6, 2018 Reply Niek ten Hagen so inspirational, love it! January 25, 2019 Reply Julia Lincoln-Stefan Awesome. This is EXACTLY what I was just looking for. February 7, 2019 Reply Carolina Ramirez Escobar Many thanks for your tutorial genius!!! March 2, 2019 Reply Bart Hakvoort Awesome tutorial! One minor suggestion: to make the middle cylinder slightly more realistic, I would suggest putting the easy-ease keyframes of the two outer ellipses on frames 2:15 and 3:15, so in between the easy-eases of the rectangle. This because the ellipses turn slower at the points where the cylinder is perpendicular to the screen (if that makes any sense).Nitpicking, I know! But it might be usefull to know for similar cases. March 6, 2019 Reply Benjamin Hurtigkarl Degel I dont know why, but i only manage to make this loop if i had 8 ball layers in total. Really nice video i learned alot how to fake the 3D March 25, 2019 Reply Kerri Rivers hey! it took me so long to figure out using the elipse shapes to create a "rounded edge" then realised could have just used the "rouchded rectangle" shape instead of normal rectangle????? March 25, 2019 Reply Griffin Davis I didn't realize Seth Rogan is teaching After Effects tutorials nowadays. March 28, 2019 Reply t-a-i-l Thanks so much for this. So simple yet brilliant!
